Welcome to Wynnchester Camp & Adventure - home of the Wynnchester Canvas Bedroll. We design and develop fine quality heritage-inspired camping and adventure gear. Our range of tough, functional camp gear uses traditional materials and designs and is based on principles of simplicity, durability, heritage and functionality, typified by our tough canvas bedrolls based firmly on the heritage of British military ‘officer’s bedrolls’, the North American ‘cowboy bedrolls’ and Australia’s canvas ‘swags’. We also source and refurbish classic canvas military gear bringing back to active service the very best, most bomb-proof and durable European military rucksacks ever made, and technically-outstanding but all-natural vintage military wool clothing and other robust vintage camp gear.

Catch Some Shooting Stars… Perseids Meteor Shower 2014

It’s meteor show-time again – the annual Perseids meteor shower runs from about now to it’s peak on the 10th August: but a full moon on the 10th means the best viewings may be in the next week or so. If you haven’t witnessed it before you simply must try and catch it as it’s an incredible event where the sky is just full of one shooting star after another. We were lucky enough to see an incredible ‘earthgrazer’ comet a few days ago – a slow-moving, low shooting star with a big colourful blazing trail, with reds, green blues and white. Our canvas bedrolls are a great way to view meteor showers as you can just camp out and keep watch on the sky, as in this beach camp a few weeks ago under a big full moon. For a complete guide to this meteor shower and how and where to catch it, see: http://earthsky.org/astronomy-essentials/everything-you-need-to-know-perseid-meteor-shower. Good luck!
